The Managing Director of Medicom Renal and Dialysis Centre, Maitama, Abuja, Dr. Pam Dareng, has called on staff of the facility to rededicate themselves to duty and deepen their devotion to God in the year 2026.

Dr. Dareng also urged clients of the centre, particularly patients, to seek a deeper understanding of God and His nature as they navigate the new year. The charge was delivered during an end-of-year prayer session organised by the centre on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

The event brought together staff and patients for prayers and words of encouragement. Dr. Dareng was represented at the session by Dr. Eresimadu Tobenna. In his address, Dr. Tobenna described it as a privilege to witness the new year, noting that many people were unable to do so due to health and other challenges.

He stressed that understanding God’s nature is essential, as it equips individuals to better confront life’s difficulties. Reading from Matthew 5:43–48, he admonished participants to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them, describing this as a reflection of God’s nature.

“The entire purpose of Jesus’ mission on earth was to help people understand God’s nature,” he said. “In Matthew chapter 5, from verse 43, Jesus addressed the Mosaic law that permitted hatred for enemies and introduced God’s nature, which is founded on love. Verse 44 specifically teaches us to pray for those who persecute us.”

Dr. Tobenna also spoke on the importance of New Year resolutions, emphasizing that meaningful change requires intentional effort. “A resolution does not just happen. While motivation is important, positive change demands deliberate and sustained effort,” he noted.

He encouraged staff and patients not to give up in the face of challenges, assuring them that God watches over humanity with the purpose of healing and liberating the troubled and afflicted.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, Emmanuel Msugh, a nurse at the centre, expressed appreciation to the management for organising the prayer session. He commended the message delivered and pledged the staff’s commitment to improved conduct and professionalism in the new year. He assured that the mistakes and shortcomings of 2025 would not be carried into 2026.
