JUST IN: Shettima, Obasanjo, Jonathan Arrive for Soludo’s Second-Term Inauguration

Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan have arrived at Chinua Achebe Airport for the second-term inauguration of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.

A video shared by Anambra State New Media confirmed the arrival of the dignitaries on Tuesday ahead of the ceremony.

“Vice President Kashim Shettima and former President Olusegun Obasanjo have arrived at Chinua Achebe Airport, Umueri, for Soludo’s second-term inauguration. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has also arrived for the event,” the statement indicated.

The high-profile ceremony, taking place at Alex Ekwueme Square, is attracting several prominent figures from across the country, including elder statesman Emeka Anyaoku.

Traditional rulers from all 179 communities in Anambra State, alongside monarchs from other parts of Nigeria, are also in attendance.

Governor Soludo secured re-election on November 8, 2025, under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which has mobilised supporters from all 326 political wards for the inauguration.

Security has been significantly tightened across the state, with personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, and other agencies deployed to strategic locations to ensure a hitch-free event.

The governor and his deputy had earlier concluded activities marking the end of their first tenure with an interdenominational thanksgiving service held at the International Convention Centre.
