A Benue-based social media user, Sunny Attah, popularly known as MOG, has been remanded in the Kuje Correctional Centre following his arraignment before the Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged cyberstalking and defamation.

Attah was arraigned on Monday on a four-count charge bordering on cyberstalking, defamation, and the publication of malicious falsehood against a member of the House of Representatives representing Benue State, Philip Agbese.

The prosecution team, led by Victor Okoye, represented the Cybercrime Unit, while human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju and two other counsel appeared for the defendant.

During the court proceedings, Attah’s lawyers applied for bail, but the presiding judge, Justice Liman, adjourned ruling on the bail application until Tuesday.

The judge subsequently ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the court’s decision on the bail request.
