Bandits Kidnap Female Passengers in Kwara Community

Bacita, Kwara State – March 17, 2026 – Two female passengers were abducted by armed bandits in Bacita, a town in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, after the commercial vehicle they were travelling in broke down.

The incident occurred on Monday when the vehicle, en route from Niger State to Osun State, developed a mechanical fault at Bacita Junction. Security sources confirmed the abduction, saying: “A passenger vehicle that loaded from Niger State heading to Osun State developed a mechanical fault at Bacita Junction, and subsequently, two female passengers were reportedly kidnapped by suspected bandits.”

Operatives of the NSCDC Bacita Division have intensified efforts to locate the kidnappers. They are collaborating with other security agencies to provide adequate support to the Jebba formation, aiming to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Security forces have also increased patrols and cordoned off strategic areas within Bacita to prevent further criminal activity and assist ongoing operations to apprehend the bandits.
