The African Democratic Congress has adjusted parts of its primary election timetable ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing logistical reasons and requests from aspirants.
The party disclosed this in a notice released on Wednesday, stating that only selected activities in the primary election process were affected, while other previously announced dates remained unchanged.
The notice was jointly signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.
According to the ADC, the changes were made “in response to aspirant requests and logistical considerations.”
Under the revised timetable, submission of nomination forms, earlier scheduled for May 13, 2026, has been moved to May 14, 2026.
The screening exercise for aspirants, previously fixed for May 14 and 15, will now take place from May 16 to 17, 2026.
The party stated that the publication of screening results would be held on May 17, while appeals arising from the screening process are scheduled for May 18 and 19.
ADC added that the final list of cleared candidates would be published on May 20, 2026.
The party also released its post-primary appeals timetable, revealing that appeals for legislative elections would be heard on May 22, governorship election appeals on May 23, while presidential election appeals are slated for May 26.
On screening venues, the ADC said presidential and governorship aspirants would be screened in Abuja, while legislative aspirants would undergo screening in their respective state capitals.
The party further clarified its concession policy on nomination fees for women and persons living with disabilities.
According to the notice, eligible aspirants in the affected categories are entitled to a 25 per cent reduction in the standard nomination form fee.
The ADC also advised aspirants who may have paid above the approved concessionary rate that refunds would be processed and communicated accordingly.
