Niger State Government is to construct a General Hospital on a permanent site in New Bussa following the conversion of the existing one to a Federal Medical Centre by the Federal government.
Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, disclosed this in New Bussa, headquarters of Borgu Local Government Area, while on monitoring tour.
He said the decision was necessary based on the commitment of his administration towards providing effective and efficient healthcare service delivery to the people.
The farmer Governor who inspected the temporary location of the General Hospital, observed that the structure is grossly inadequate.
On road infrastructure, the Farmer Governor directed Borgu stakeholders to decide on where the 5 km township road will be constructed.
He said following security threat in the area that led to road diversion from Wawa to New Bussa new road that will connect the two avg communities will be constructed.
The Emir of Borgu, Muhammad Sani Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, in his response said the people of Borgu Kingdom will continue to hold the Farmer Governor in high esteem considering the many developmental initiatives he has engineered in the Kingdom and prayed for the success of his administration.
Other stakeholders including the Member representing Agwara/Borgu Federal Constituency, Jafaru Mohammed and the member representing Borgu State Constituency, Abdulrahman Gambo Muhammad, said tour of the Farmer Governor is a phenomenal gesture capable of bringing governance closer to the people at the grassroots.
The Farmer Governor, who sought for royal blessings at the palace of the Emirate of Borgu, also visited the Dodo of Wawa, Dr. Mahmud Ahmed Aliyu, where he also reiterated that his administration will squarely address the challenges faced by the people of the community.
