The Executive Chairman of Kwande Local Government, Hon. Neji Vitalis Terhile, held a crucial meeting with Brigadier General Abdullahi, the Commander of the 401 Special Forces Brigade, on 30 December 2024 to devise strategies for tackling the ongoing security challenges plaguing the Kwande region, particularly in the Turan axis.
This meeting marked a proactive initiative to address security concerns that have affected the community’s peace and stability. Hon. Terhile underscored the importance of a unified approach involving both the local government and military forces in seeking sustainable solutions to the area’s insecurity issues.
Brigadier General Abdullahi reaffirmed the military’s unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and welfare of Kwande’s residents. He expressed readiness to collaborate closely with the local government to both identify and tackle the underlying causes contributing to the persistent insecurity.
The dialogue was viewed as a constructive step forward, fostering hope that the partnership between local authorities and military leadership would bear positive outcomes for the community’s safety in the near future.
During the meeting, Hon. Terhile issued a stern warning to any individuals or groups contemplating actions that could undermine public trust or threaten the security of the region. He emphasized that the law would not be lenient toward anyone found engaging in betrayal, sabotage, or other mischievous activities, stressing that perpetrators would face the full consequences of their actions.
Hon. Terhile called upon all stakeholders to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities. He reassured the community that his administration is committed to tirelessly working to ensure the safety and security of the people of Kwande, aiming to restore peace and confidence in the region.
