POWA President Emphasizes Goodwill and Unity at Annual Convention

The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) President, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, has underscored the essential roles of goodwill, unity, and growth during the recent POWA Annual Convention. The event took place from December 5th to 7th, 2024, at the POWA National Secretariat in Mambila Barracks, Abuja.

The three-day convention served as a platform for empowering women and children from police families. Egbetokun highlighted POWA’s ongoing commitment to not only support the wives of police officers but also to extend assistance to the broader community through valuable skills training and acquisition programs. She reflected on the success of the POWA’s 60th anniversary, which featured the graduation of 110 individuals from the POWA Skills Acquisition Center located in Dei-Dei, Abuja.

“We are dedicated to enhancing the welfare of police families through education, skill development, and mutual support,” Egbetokun stated. She encouraged community members to engage in future initiatives designed to uplift and empower women, emphasizing that by uniting in goodwill, they can create an environment conducive to growth and prosperity for all.

The association’s efforts aim to foster a supportive network for police families while ensuring that participants gain essential skills to improve their livelihoods. The graduation of 110 participants marks a significant achievement for POWA, highlighting its impact on the community.

As POWA continues its mission, it invites further collaboration and participation from members of the community to join in its empowerment programs that seek to enhance the lives of police families across the nation.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, shared insights into the convention’s activities and its overarching goals. The future initiatives promise to build on this momentum, reinforcing POWA’s commitment to uplifting families of police officers and promoting unity within the community.

This press release reiterates POWA’s mission to maintain the welfare of police families and its invitation to all for active participation in upcoming empowerment programs.
